Reciprocating
Cycles (IC Engines)
The
air-standard reciprocating cycles such as the Otto, Diesel or Stirling
cycles, simulating internal combustion engines, can be constructed
from a series of generic Closed Processes forming a loop.
A Cycle
layer is added on top of the Generic Closed Process daemons to build these
specific daemons. Once the processes are fully evaluated, the cycle variables
are automatically calculated. Although it may be tedius to construct a
cycle, the TEST-Code produced can be used later to instantly re-generate
the solution. |

HVAC
of Closed Systems
Psychrometry
of closed systems undergoing a process is handled by this specific daemon.
Because of the possibility of liquid water being added to or condensed
out of the system, non-uniform begin and finish States are allowed.
A closed
chamber of moist air cools down. To determine how much water condenses.
Two chambers of moist air, one much cooler than the other, are connected
through a duct. To determine if there is going to be condensation or not
as a result of the mixing. |

Combustion
in Closed Chambers
Processes
involving combustion of hydrocarbon fuels in a closed combustion chamber.
After balancing the chemical reaction on the Reaction panel, you set up
the fuel, oxidizer and products states on the States panel, set the process
variables in the Analysis panel and Calculate unknowns such as heat transfer
or adiabatic flame temeprature. This daemon does not have the Super-Calculate
feature. |
